Name: Katherine "Kitty" Pryde

Personality:

At first glance, Kitty seems like a valley girl, or maybe the girl who tries hard to fit in. The words 'like' and 'totally' tend to pop up a lot when she talks, but over the course of the series they lessened a good deal, showing how she matured. Despite that, Kitty is one of the smartest on the X-Men. She takes honors English, Honors History, Astrophysics, and is the only Junior in Trigonometry (a class of Seniors). Kitty is also good with computers and technology in general, after the mansion was destroyed she helped Beast set up the danger room computers/console, something which has to be done correctly. Her computer skills were a bit needed as sometimes she gets frustrated and will just phase through the machine and end up short circuiting it (You can't begin to imagine how many alarm clocks she's ruined that way).

Even though she flirted with/dated Avalanche, someone in the Brotherhood and subsequently an 'enemy' of the X-Men, Kitty is very loyal. (But come on, who can resist a bad boy?) When they were outted as mutants and the school looked at them as freaks, she stuck with her friends, and was hurt when Kurt/Nightcrawler pretended not to be with them since he wasn't yet outted thanks to his image inducer. Her loyalty to them probably lies in the fact that they are different. Kitty before she got her powers was one of those girls who tried desperately to fit in but didn't. Discovering that she was a mutant further alienated her, but finding people like her who cares about her, and who she cared about in return, gave her something to hold on to. With her loyalty comes her willingness to stand up for what she believes in. Sometimes that willingness comes with a price, she'll charge ahead without really thinking about what she's doing or the consequences of doing such. Kitty is pretty idealistic, but maybe she has to be considering she is fighting for an equal place in society.
